What makes Pinja Candles better?

Candles are traditionally made from paraffin wax or tallow. Paraffin candles, being petroleum-based, are associated with the extraction of non-renewable fossil fuels. Tallow candles are derived from animal fat-rendering processes. Both have a higher environmental footprint than our plant-based candles, which utilize biodegradable rapeseed wax. Our candles can be decomposed, leaving no lasting environmental impact.
  • No oil based substances
  • No animal based waxes
  • Clean burning and long burn time
  • Unscented

Rapeseeds and flowers

Vegan rapeseed magic
Pinja’s sustainable pillar candles are made of Swedish rapeseed (Brassica napus) wax. Rapeseed is a bright yellow flowering plant cultivated mainly for its oil-rich seeds. The oil is extracted from these seeds and used as the base when producing candles.

Slow and steady wins the environmental race
Plant-based candles emit minimal soot compared to other options. Paraffin candles derived from petroleum release toxins and black soot when burned, contributing to poor air quality within your home. They also burn faster, which requires frequent replacements and contributes to excess waste. Pinja’s candles have a burning time of up to 24 hours.
